Richard grew up on a family farm in Idaho. He learned the qualities of hard work and treating others as he would want to be treated, qualities he has continued with his representation of his clients.

Richard and his family highly value education. He obtained his Bachelor and Law Degrees and in 1986 began his practice in Walla Walla. 

He has represented clients in all Walla Walla Courts since 1986. He has extensive courtroom experience. Richard had the privilege of serving as College Place Municipal Court Judge from 2003-2013. He has also served as a Walla Walla County Superior Court Commissioner and District Court Judge Pro Tem. 

LAW PRACTICE 

Since 1986, Mr. Wernette has provided quality and confidential legal representation for his clients. His law practice areas of emphasis include all aspects of Family Law, Business, Wills, Probate, Vacate Criminal Convictions/Restoration of Washington State Firearm Rights, and Criminal Law. Flat fees are offered in many areas of practice. 

FAMILY

Richard and his wife Debbie have three children, Wendi, Cara, and Weston and are now enjoying the blessing of grandchildren. Debbie has a college degree in education and is employed with the Walla Walla Public Schools. 

CLIENT LEGAL AND PERSONAL NEEDS

Richard is a "Counselor of Law." He will take the time needed to listen and understand a client's unique circumstances. He is then able to professionally address that client's concerns. 

He obtained his bachelor of arts degree in political science in 1982 from Idaho State University where he graduated with high honors. He obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1985 from the University of Idaho College of Law and in 1986 began his practice in Walla Walla.
